Moctezuma I was crowned ruler of the great Aztec empire in 1440, thus beginning the golden age of the Aztecs. During his reign, Moctezuma I defined the image of the Aztec Empire that we know today: a state rich in culture and mythology. The capital Tenochtitl ⁇ n, today's city of Mexico, flourished during his reign. The Patron of Art Homage to Moctezuma I Limited Edition 4810 by Montblanc with champagne gold finish details is dedicated to this great ruler of one of the most exceptional civilizations in history. The overall design is inspired by an atlatl, an Aztec harpoon launcher. The shape of the cone, embellished by a very fine hammering, is inspired by an Aztec sacrificial knife with obsidian blade. The colours of the lacquer - oil and carmine red - are inspired by the colours of the royal coat. The two hieroglyphs in the decoration of the cap symbolize the years of the reign of Moctezuma I. The handmade nib in solid gold Au 750 is adorned with a precious engraving inspired by the Aztec glyph for the city of Tenochtitlan: a three-armed cactus with a royal diadem and two ornamental coils.
